Connecting the world with Africa's finest craftsmanship.

We are on a mission to empower artisans, preserve cultural heritage, and share the beauty of African artistry with a global audience.

Our Story

Wanzo Africa was born from a passion for travel, a deep respect for artisanal traditions, and a desire to make a meaningful impact. Our founder, Pauline Wandia, witnessed firsthand the incredible talent of artisans across the continent, but also the challenges they faced in reaching a wider market.

We started Wanzo—a name that evokes 'to think' or 'to create' in several Bantu languages—as a bridge. A bridge between the skilled hands that craft these beautiful items and the conscious consumers who appreciate quality, authenticity, and story.

From a small collection of baskets sourced from a single village, we've grown into a vibrant marketplace that represents artisans from multiple countries, each with a unique story to tell.
